The Opportunity The Senior Product Engineer plays a critical role in driving the development and optimisation of products within a design, manufacturing, and retail business. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to transform creative concepts into feasible, high-quality, and customer-focused products. This role involves refining designs for scalability, ensuring efficient manufacturing processes, and maintaining strict quality standards. A key focus is on solving technical challenges, improving product performance, and aligning designs with customer expectations and market trends. The Senior Product Engineer will also lead innovation by exploring new materials and technologies while ensuring compliance with industry regulations and sustainability goals. Using their electrical engineering and mechatronics experience, the Senior Product Engineer will act as a vital link between design, production, and retail teams, delivering products that embody the brand’s vision and meet commercial objectives.
The Role:
Collaborate with designers, local R&D and global R&D to develop and refine designs for manufacturing feasibility
Oversee the creation and testing of prototypes to ensure functionality, durability, and quality.
Refine designs for large-scale manufacturing and optimise production processes.
Identify and resolve technical challenges in design and production.
Ensure all products comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and sustainability goals.
Establish and maintain quality control procedures to deliver consistent product performance.
Investigate product failures or defects and implement corrective actions.
Analyse customer feedback and market trends to inform product improvements and new designs.
Drive innovation by researching and integrating new materials, techniques, and technologies.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and cross-functional teams.
Manage project timelines and resources to meet development goals.
Collaborate with marketing and retail teams to ensure product alignment with brand values and customer needs.
Continuously review and improve existing products and processes to enhance efficiency and market relevance
About you
Degree in electrical engineering or mechatronics
7+ years of experience, ideally within the furniture or automotive industry
Experience in motion projects
Ability to use SolidWorks or equivalent CAD software
Ability to analyse data to implement changes to improve designs
Manage deadlines and expectations when working on multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of material performance
Demonstrate a positive and motivated mindset
Communicate clearly and positively with all departments
Ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders
Team player who establishes strong working relationships and collaborates with others to achieve goals
Sound conflict resolution and problem-solving skills

This role is based on-site at our Design & Support Centre in Turrella NSW. Free parking is available to all team members.
